Peter in Florence Gin

PETER IN FLORENCE GIN is a tribute to the city of Florence, Italy. The “Gin of Elegance” is centered on the IRIS, the symbol of the city, of which not only the root is used, but also the petals, much rarer, that emphasizes the floral component of the distillate.

It’s a classic Gin in keeping the rules of London Dry Gin, but innovative also for the use of various botanicals.
Fourteen in all compose it: in addition to the Juniper and the Iris also fresh Bergamot, dried Lemon, Rose berries, Lavander flowers, fresh Rosemary, root of Angelica, Coriander and Almonds. All come from specialized organic local small producers.

THE PERFECT
home-made GIN TONIC

Ingredients:

5 cl of gin
15 cl of tonic water
Ice
Optional:
a slice of lemon,
some juniper berries, a sprig of rosemary

PREPARATION

To prepare the ice, fill a few small glasses or coffee cups with plain mineral water and place them in the freezer. Once the ice is ready, use a coffee cup to measure out the gin, so pour it into a wine glass.

Pour 3⁄4 of tonic water previously placed in the fridge, which, based on your taste, can be added or decreased depending on how much alcohol you want in your drink. Given the presence of a soda or a fizzy drink such as the tonic water, the two ingredients will blend perfectly.

Finally, add the block of ice to the Gin Tonic and some garnishes to taste, such as two crushed juniper berries, lemon zest, or a small sprig of rosemary. What’s important is that the garnish enhances one of the ingredients already present in the gin, such as juniper, rosemary or lemon, and does not cover the taste, let alone the smell of it. By following these easy steps, you will get a perfect homemade Gin Tonic.
